About the Event
Mehndi Ceremony - It's here that we will be joined by our loved ones to get henna tattoos applied to our bodies before the wedding day.
Ngungkab Lawang - This means opening the door. During this traditional Balinese wedding ceremony, family and friends join the groom in a carnival like procession to “pick up” the bride from her house/room to begin their journey together as a married couple.
There will be music and dancing and a celebration that honors love and togetherness. It is a sign of 'suhaag,' implying a blissful married life.
What To Wear: Wear your Balinese costume, colorful or florery outfit with short sleeves so your hands and arms are exposed. The Mehndi application isn't a quick process. The intricate patterns will need 30 minutes to dry so you may have to sit still to avoid smudges.
